Interpersonal Communications

In school, I am currently taking interpersonal communications. I never thought much about communications but since its part of my major I have started to concentrate more about it. Oneo f the biggest things about communication is that we cannot communicate. Even when we are silent that is a part of communication. We even communicate with ourselves. I had a chance to use some of my learned communication skills this week. I volunteered to help with a conference and we had speakers come in to sit on a panel. I did not know how many where on the panel and did not have enough chairs out at the beginning. One of the panelists took it that since I did not have a chair out for her that the group did not want her to be their. She was highly upset. I learned that once some one is upset it is extremely hard to communicate with them. As soon as I realized that she didnt have a chair i put one out but by that time it was too late. Has anyone else dealt with situations like that. I think i did all I could to try and smooth things out. Feel free to comment.
